Bad Businesses

These are a few of the businesses I will never visit or use their products or services again.
1. Fedex – They charge a $10 fee just for a change of address, UPS does not charge anything. Use UPS or the USPS. In addition to the $10 charge they cost more initially to ship anything and usually are not any faster then USPS or the UPS. I am sticking with the good old postal service from now on.
2. Mike Razor Ford – The service department and repair shop over charges for everything and they add hidden fees. I had some service done to my vehicle and they added items to my bill that I did not agree upon. They also told me they would not charge me for a new belt and then did anyways. When I called to ask about the charge and to get rid of it they gave me the run around and offered a free oil change which was not even close to the value of the belt charge.
3. Tom Wood Automotive Group – I will never do business with any one affiliated with Tom Wood. A salesman named “Doc” was very rude tried to rush me and ended up lying to me to get me to purchase a vehicle. “Doc” pretty much promised me anything to get a car sale. What happened was that I was promised a certain amount off of the vehicle because I was a first time buyer. When the paperwork was drawn up that promise was not kept, I noticed it on the sales contract and brought it up with the financier, he said he didn’t know anything about it. “Doc” had failed to tell the financier and since the paperwork was already drawn up they could not change that, I was upset and said no deal and was ready to leave. “Doc” came back in and said he would make it better. The way they made it better was yet again another lie. They promised to make two payment on the vehicle for me right off the bat, that would have totaled more then the previous mentioned discount so I agreed. They never paid the two payment nor did they care once I signed the paperwork. I will never do business with them again.

Chai Tea Mix

This is my favorite Chai Tea recipe.

1-Cup nonfat dry milk power
1-Cup powdered non-dairy creamer
1-Cup french vanilla flavored non-dairy creamer or desired flavor
2 1/2 – Cup white sugar
1 1/2 – Cup unsweetened instant tea
2 tsp – ground ginger
2 tsp – ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground clove
I personally use pumpkin spice for the ginger, cinnamon, and clove.

The directions to make Chai Tea Mix is easy. First in a large bowl, combine milk powder, non-dairy creamer, vanilla flavored creamer, sugar, and instant tea. Stir in the ginger, cinnamon, cloves (or Pumpkin spice). Then stir the mix up really good and you have it. Add the mix to hot water to your taste. Enjoy.

Easy Cheese Cake

This is my three step easy cheese cake taught to me by my mother.

Mix 2 pkg. (8 oz.) Philadelphia cream cheese softened, 1/2 cup sugar, and 1/2 tsp. vanilla with an electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Add 2 eggs then mix until blended.
Pour into a Graham cracker pie crust (6 oz.)
Bake at 325 degree Fahrenheit for 40 minutes or until the center is almost set. Cool. Refrigerate for 3 hrs or overnight. I like to top it with cherry pie filling but many people like strawberry pie filling so be creative with the topping.

Pork chops and rice

This is one of my favorite meals and I will tell you how to make it.

What you need:
1. Pork chops
2. Rice
3. Can of chicken and star
4. Orange juice

First you pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees. Then you start browning your pork phops in a skillet. While the pork chops are browning, in a large ceramic dish add a layer of rice and saturate the rice with the orange juice. The rice will soak up the orange juice. When the pork chops are browned add them to the rice and orange juice by pushing them into the rice where you can just see the tops of the pork chops. Then mix up the can of chicken and stars and pour it over the whole dish.

Finished classroom training.

I have officially finished my class room training but have lots of training still to do. The complexity of the software that I am testing is amazing. So amazing that it will probaby takes years to learn the ins and outs of the software. It is quite a challenge but I welcome it and all the new challenges that I face ahead of me.

Fisrt Week Of Training

I have completed my first week of training. One more week and I will be certified. The software is so complex and has the ability to do amazing things. I am learning a lot and getting really good with the software. Next week I start my second week of training and it should go smoothly as well. Wish me luck.

Sad Day

I am becoming sad that I will be leaving Caterpillar. I will miss this place and the wonderful people I have worked with. I did not know that the change from working as an intern to working full time would be this difficult. I have not even started my new job and the pressure is building on me to perform well.
With everything in like I welcome the change and hope for the best. My new job title sounds exciting and the people I will be working with seem energetic. So in closing it is sad to leave what I know well, but it is exciting to start a new experience. Wish me luck!

My web site reached 1000 hits today. I am excited that people are visiting my site. I do this as a hobby and for fun. So it is nice to see something come out of it.

Cisco Vs Apple

It seems that Apple opened up a can of worms with the naming of the IPhone. Cisco has owned the rights for the IPhone name for quite some time now (since 2000 from Infogear). Cisco has opened a lawsuit against Apple over the name. It will be interesting to see how things pan out. It will probably end up with Apple paying a sum of money to Cisco or Apple changing the name of the phone to EyePhone.
